Oklahoma City courthouse bombing in 1995

    Waco, TX in 1993

I remember both as if it happened yesterday.

Seems like so lomg ago, and yet it also seems like it just happened when it's mentioned.

You know, I never knew both of those events were on the same day. I remember the Oklahoma City Bombing. I was in school still and remember everyone turning on the TV's to watch it.

Waco on the other hand, can't remember where I was.

McVeigh chose that day as a day of "revenge" for the government attack on the Waco compound if I recall...

I was driving in my car and heard about Waco over my radio. I always try to give law enforcement the benefit of the doubt, but to me that one was unforgivable.

I came out of the courthouse (I was clerking at the time) when the parking lot attendant told me about OKC. In those days, there was absolutely no security at the Ham Co courthouse, you could go in or out of any entrance. Wasn't long before the metal detectors went up. I haven't been to the OKC memorial, but those who have tell me it is a moving place.
